More Tour and Travel Advice for Europe
Generally tours starting in Istanbul stay at the Taslik Hotel. You should however check and confirm this against your tour documents once you receive them.

A taxi from the airport to the hotel is roughly US$20 or 20€.
Although Turkish Lira is the official currency, US Dollars and Euros are widely accepted in Turkey. English is spoken by some.

Always sign up for the group photo's while on ANY of the tours Contiki offers. When you get home you'll be glad that you did - it will be nice to have a professional photo of your whole group that you can hang up on the wall or put in a photo album.
Be wary of gladiators outside the colosseum. They don't take photos for free and can be quite agressive about their payment. Also don't be fooled into taking an unlicensed guided tour of the Colosseum either....
