Bringing your laptop on tour is a matter of personal choice.
“I did not bring my laptop and did not regret it. Its a lot to lug around and I did not miss my laptop at all. If all you want to do is backup pics, you can get your memory card burned to a CD in any Photo store.”

Of course you probably wouldn’t need a laptop because you would be busy doing and seeing things…but it is a good idea to back up your pictures onto your computer, and also quickly go on your laptop before you start your day,or before you go to bed, just to tell your family/friends that you arrived safe,or what you are up to… because emailing/facebooking/etc… is cheaper than making an overseas call to your home country. Most likely the hotel you are staying at would have free wi-fi internet for your use. Also it saves you of having to pay to use the internet at a internet cafe if you want to use the pc’s there.. But on the other hand you would have to lug it around with you to every country…and it would really suck if you lost it or it got stolen.
I definitely would not bring it! computers and internet access are in most of the major cities and hotels! If your really concerned contacts the hotels ahead of time! But if you don’t have to bring your lap top….DON’T its just extra weight to drag around
I’m going on the first trip out in March on the Ultimate Eurpoean tour and would like some advice if I should take my laptop along. It’s not real big or heavy but I’d like to hear past travellers advice….. please!!!
