An overnight bag is simply a small backpack-sized bad that you bring yourself and you pack with clothes, toiletries and anything you think you may need for the next day. This can often make your travel experience easier as it is more practical than carrying a large bag or suitcase up small hotel stairs where there is no elevator, onto a ferry or onto a cable car up a mountain.

Overnight bags are a good idea on some one night stops or for other overnight stops on tour where it is more practical to have a small bag rather than a large piece of luggage.

Examples of where you may use an overnight bag are when of you stay up Mt Pilatus and when taking an overnight ferry, on the Milford Wander, sailing the Whitsundays or sometimes for one night stops on tour.

An over night bag for two nights is required for tours staying up Mt Pilatus in Switzerland while a small bag is required for those taking the Sailing the Whitsundays option in Australia.

We suggest using your carry on bag (or day bag) as your overnight bag. Many people often pick up an overnight bag once they begin their tour.
