Simply the mention of ‘Paris’ creates heady images of style, culture, food, fashion, glitz, beauty, grandeur, and pomp and the Eiffel Tower. The Capital of France and one of the most vibrant, cosmopolitan and iconic cities in the world is a bustling city whose metropolitan area is home to over 11 million Parisians. All this together with the buildings, monuments, museums, people, cityscapes, attitude, creates a magical feel to the city that leaves a lasting impression on first time visitors.
In addition to the Louvre and D’Orsay, the Pompidou museum is a very interesting modern art museum, and architecturally speaking is very intricate. Day trips to Versailles and Villa Savoye are also very interesting for architecture or interior design students.
If you have been to Paris before and want to try something different, take a metro out to La Defense. There you can visit the Grande Arche, a modern day replica of the Arc de Triomphe. There are quite a few cool moderen buildings out there as well.
A great way to spend the afternoon in Paris? Grab some cheese, a baguette and some wine from the shops on the Champs Elysees and head down for a picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower!
A must do in Paris is to visit one of those Crepe stands. Nutella and Banana crepes….Mmmmmmmmmmm
