Welcome to the Redneck Riviera! After the madness of New Orleans or Orlando, Pensacola is the perfect place to recharge. Besides being the home to the Navy’s world famous flight demonstration team the Blue Angels, Pensacola is one of the most popular beaches the US has on the Gulf of Mexico. Clean sand and perfect, warm water make it a great place for sunbathing, swimming, or just kicking back at a beachside bar for a bit of people watching. For the adventurous, grab a jetski and hit the waves!

This city is a stretch of white-sand-paradise sitting on the panhandle of the state of Florida, drenched in the sun and the warm surf of the Gulf of Mexico.

Because of the city’s proximity to this large body of water, you will also find a quite active presence of the U.S. Navy, with naval service- men and women training on the beaches by day and partying in Pensacola’s nightclubs by dark. But that’s not all! Make sure to look to the sky every once in a while, you may see the Blue Angels flight squadron streaking across at near-Mach speeds in preparation for an upcoming air show spectacular.

The Beach

This may be the most relaxation you get on a Grand Southern, or Eastern Discovery tour, so enjoy it while it lasts! Toss the Frisbee or football, go for a swim, or work on that tan! If the beach isn’t your thing, take a walk over to the Boardwalk, a shopping and dining center offering assorted souvenirs, water sports rentals and, for lunch, one of the best Hooters restaurants in America!

Nightlife

Only one place in Pensacola has it all and that’s Seville Quarter. This venue contains something for everyone: a dueling piano bar, a pool hall, an outdoor patio with live music, and one gi-normous dance floor with a DJ spinning all the hot hip-hop, R&B and Top 40 hits. Seville Quarter tends to be a crowd-pleaser!

Shopping

The Cordova mall is close by but not a great place for shopping (people who visit there are generally not impressed). Most of the shopping is located along the beachfront at Pensacola Beach. The shops include surf shops, souvinier shops, and small boutiques that sell jeweley, clothes, and other knick knacks.
