Marketing Manager – Anaheim
CONTIKI HOLIDAYS , the #1 travel company for 18 to 35 year olds, is looking for a Marketing Manager with a tactical mind and a creative flair. This position will manage several team members and a demanding and diverse workload. Responsibilities include budget maintenance, ad and collateral development, media relations, consumer and trade promotions, copywriting, and an understanding of web marketing. Speaking the language of Gen X and Gen Y is critical – knowing where they hang, even more so.

The Marketing Manager will possess the following strengths:
- A broad breadth of direct marketing experience including online, traditional, viral, guerilla, B2C, B2B
- Capable of executing detailed marketing plans and creating short-term tactics for optimizing sales
- High competency in managing large budgets, phasings, and triggers around strong Excel spreadsheet skills
- Well-connected to companies that serve Gen X and Gen Y
- Business acumen when participating in development and negotiation of promotional partnerships with our current travel partners
- Skilled in creating co-branded programs with high-profile brands
- Comfortable with trade and consumer advertising: research, planning, media buys, ad agency creative and trafficking
- Managing PR - including media relations, building relationships with key media, securing features and developing new angles
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for presentations and interviews
- Timely management of design, creation and distribution of consumer/trade marketing collateral including brochures, postcards, flyers, newsletters and other POS
- Aligning marketing initiatives with Director of Global Web around key drivers, look and feel
- Pro-active in relationship with VP of Sales to drive needs and requests for trade/collateral for key consortia relationships
- Collaborative planning and execution in conjunction with all interdepartmental deadlines
Minimum qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related discipline
- College degree and 5+ years experience in consumer marketing. Travel marketing experience is preferable
- Solid experience executing mixed-media marketing plans for consumer, travel or entertainment products
- Well-schooled in working with media and managing outside agencies (advertising, promotional, etc.)
- Superior organizational skills, self-motivated, and keen ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines and budgets
- Personality and skills to manage, inspire, and mentor a team of creative professionals
- Highly proficient in computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite Software, Excel, Outlook
- Confidence, charisma, and character
